Terms and
Conditions –Young Workers and Employment Workshops
Please read these Terms
and Conditions carefully; final confirmation of your workshop requires
acceptance of them.
General provisions
Alive After Five, Labour
Education, and Employment Programs are fully funded programs offered at no cost
to any interested schools or partners. There are no charges for
booking, speaker time, travel costs, or materials. Any exceptions
and potential costs to schools and programs are noted below in the Cancellations section. Any
amendments to this contract must be made in writing and submitted to ywsafety@bcfed.ca. If schools
require District General Contracts, please send them to ywsafety@bcfed.ca. We will
consider those contract terms to be equal to these terms and conditions.
Permissions
The BC Federation of
Labour and its Health and Safety Centre does not save or distribute any
personal information from our workshops, including names, personal information,
and images. The information we gather from workshops includes:
- Name of
organization or school and program
- Name and contact
information for school or program organizer
- Date and time of
presentation(s)
- Total number of
students/participants
- Anonymous
results from any polls launched in Zoom, Mentimeter, or similar software
Sessions may be recorded
for staff training purposes, but not for distribution or use with other
participants/groups.
Expectations
We kindly ask that the
following expectations be adhered to:
- Student/Participant
cameras remain on during the presentation.
- Students use
their real first names during the presentation so the facilitator can
properly address individuals who have questions, concerns, or comments.
- A teacher, job
coach, or staff member remain on and engaged during the presentation(s).
- Respectful
communication in the chat is relevant to the workshop materials and
information only. We expect that our presenters are provided with a
healthy and safe working environment.
- Please have a
teacher, job coach, or staff member log onto the session 5-10 minutes
prior to the scheduled session time.
- All questions or
concerns regarding bookings or contact information are directed through
the Community Education coordinators Jennifer Lambert or Kyra
Sekhon.
- Confirmation of
date, time(s) and numbers are needed no later than 10 days prior
to the presentation.
Cancellations
Incurring travel expenses
that result in last-minute cancellations or no-shows can affect our ability
over time, to travel (when safe to resume) across B.C. delivering these
presentations.
We require at
least 24 hours’ cancellation notice for all sessions by email to ywsafety@bcfed.ca, or please contact
Jennifer Lambert or Kyra Sekhon directly via email. When travel
resumes, we require 48 hours cancellation notice. Unfortunately,
failure to notify us within these time frames may result in a cancellation fee
to cover any reasonable costs (including but not limited to wage replacement
costs for the presenter).
Session evaluation
Following each
presentation, participants will receive an email with a link to our evaluation
pages for to complete. But if you have any immediate concerns
following a presentation, please contact Jennifer Lambert or Kyra Sekhon, as
soon as possible.
